    About Department

    Kalyan Taluka General Information – The total area of ​​Kalyan Taluka is 267.59 sq. km. There are a total of 46 Gram Panchayats in Kalyan Taluka. And the number of villages is 84 out of which one village is deserted. According to the 2011 census, the population of the taluka is 124467 and the total number of families is 26818. Since Kalyan Taluka is close to the city, the areas of the taluka are industrially developed.

    The Durgadi Fort in Kalyan has historical importance and the Ganapati Temple in Titwala is in this taluka. The main crop of the taluka is rice. The Ulhas, Kalu and Bhatsa rivers flow through the taluka and due to the availability of river water and irrigation well water, cash crops such as vegetables, mango, coconut and flowers are also grown. The total area under rice crop in this taluka is 6400 hectares. Irrigation is increasing the area of ​​horticulture and production. This Panchayat Samiti Kalyan is working for implementing rural development schemes in Kalyan taluka.

    There are a total of 12 departments under Panchayat Samiti Kalyan. There are 5 veterinary clinics and 3 health centers, 18 sub-centers. There are 313 primary schools and 129 total Anganwadis. Similarly, there are a total of 46 Gram Panchayats in Kalyan taluka and rural development work is being done through the Gram Panchayats.     Health Department – There are 3 Primary Health Centers under Panchayat Samiti Kalyan and 18 sub-centers, providing regular health services to 239480 population. The primary health center and sub-center are monitored from Health Department, Panchayat Samiti Kalyan.

    Agriculture Department – The Agriculture Department is working under Panchayat Samiti Kalyan

    Education Department – There are a total of 313 primary schools under Panchayat Samiti Kalyan and the work of providing free quality educational facilities in rural areas is done through these schools.

    There are a total of 129 Anganwadi centers under the Women and Child Development Department – Panchayat Samiti Welfare.

    Introduction

    General Administration Department –

    1. The administrative head of the Panchayat Samiti is the Block Development Officer.
    2. There are 06 Blocks of Zilla Parishad and 12 Gans of Panchayat Samiti in Kalyan Taluka. The Chairman and Deputy Chairman elected by the members of the Panchayat Samiti elected from the 12 Gans are the office bearers of the Panchayat Samiti.
    3. The post of Assistant Block Development Officer is also working in the Panchayat Samiti Kalyan and the departments under him are Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Women and Child Welfare and Social Welfare.

    Health Department

    The Taluka Health Officer works as the head of the health department in the taluka. He works as the link/supervision officer between the District Health Officer and the health center/sub-center/rural hospital in the taluka.

    Agriculture Department –

    The administrative head of the agriculture department is the Assoistant Block Development Officer while the Agriculture  officers are the main department officers and their subordinates are 2 extension officers in agriculture.

     

    Education Department

    The administrative head of the education department is the Block Education Officer. His subordinates are Extension Officer, Center Head, Principal, Teachers, Clerk, Peon etc.

     

    Women and Child Development Department – ​​

    Child Development Project Officer looks after the work as the administrative head of Women and Child Development Department. His subordinates are ICDS Supervisor, Extension Officer (Stats), Anganwadi Sevika and Helper.

    Works Department – ​​

    As the administrative head of Works Department, Deputy Engineer (Works) looks after the work. His subordinates are Section Engineer, Junior Engineer, Civil Engineer Assistant, Draftsman etc.

    Water Supply Department – ​​

    As the administrative head of Water Supply Department, Deputy Engineer (Water Supply) looks after the work. His subordinates are Section Engineer, Junior Engineer, Civil Engineer Assistant etc.

    Minor Irrigation Department – ​​

    As the administrative head of the Minor Irrigation Department, the Deputy Engineer (Irrigation) looks after the work. His subordinates are Water Conservation Officer, Surveyor etc.

    Animal Husbandry Department – ​​

    As the administrative head of the Animal Husbandry Department, the Livestock Development Officer (Extension) looks after the work. His subordinates are the Assistant livestock development officers, livestock supervisors, Dresser  etc. working under the veterinary clinics in the taluka.

    Accounts Department – ​​

    The Assistant Accounts Officer is the head of the department in the Accounts Department. His subordinates are Junior Accounts Officer, Senior Assistant (Accounts) and Junior Assistant (Accounts).

    Vision & Mission

    Construction and maintenance of infrastructure, levy and collection of taxes and implementation of government schemes for the rural area. Effective implementation of individual and public benefit schemes implemented from time to time by the Central Government and the State Government.

    Health Department – Health services include family welfare programs, maternal and child care programs, leprosy eradication programs, tuberculosis eradication programs, blindness prevention programs, and epidemic disease control under the National Rural Health Mission and provide health to the beneficiaries in the area of ​​work.

    Agriculture Department

    To provide agricultural services, inputs, tools, and programs to farmers to improve their standard of living and contribute to increasing the per capita income of the country.

    Education Department –

    To improve the quality of education in Zilla Parishad schools, to provide free and quality educational facilities to students in rural areas.

    Women and Child Development Department –

    To provide adequate nutritional food to children aged 0 to 6 years for their overall development and to make them free from malnutrition.

    Works Department

    Construction of permant roads for public transportation, construction of public buildings. Construction of closed sewers for sewage system, maintenance and repair of existing old buildings, etc.

    Water Supply Department

    Providing clean drinking water to the villagers, preparing new piped water supply schemes, digging borewells. Maintenance and repair of existing water supply schemes. Providing clean drinking water through pipes to all citizens under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

    Animal Husbandry Department –

    Keeping the livestock in rural areas under control by giving free vaccinations. Providing free goats, sheep, chickens, etc. on subsidy basis to the rural areas for livelihood.

    Minor Irrigation Department –

    Increasing the water level in the land, carrying out water conservation works, construction of small dams, repair and maintenance of village ponds, etc.

    Objectives & Functions

    To develop the rural areas in an all-round way, to create clean, beautiful and green villages, to implement activities for poverty alleviation, to reach the people of the villages with government schemes, to implement government schemes, to allocate funds for the development of Gram Panchayats, to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system. To implement the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan in terms of environment.
